The other day someone was telling me about saving up for, and purchasing, a new faucet for his kitchen. I thought to myself, it’s not a car you know. Some fixtures are expensive, but then again, they last for a long time and you really use them a lot.
One of the fixtures he was looking for was from the moen showhouse, and he was absolutely enthralled by it. I don’t think he bought it in the end but it was one he was interested in. Some of the faucets in this collection are very elegant, Moen definately has a flair for design - the Organic Collection for example is very curved and almost looks like it was made personally for someone’s hand. The Bamboo Collection appears to be very jointed, like a piece of bamboo would be as it grows bit by bit.
Some of the faucets he was perusing included the devonshire faucets, very fashionable and if you look at them, quite old fashioned as well. Then again, fashion goes around and around in circles, so these are functional and useful as well as fashionable. The Devonshire Lavatory faucets for example are designed to be very easy to install, and have a highly traditional look about them. If I wanted a new set of faucets this would be the kind of style I would go for, I guess that’s me in a nutshell really, traditional and stylish! Others that are similar are more like very old style faucets where the actual handles and faucet are in one piece - I remember my grandma had something similar - it has an industry lifetime guarantee, not bad for a faucet!
Finally, the ones that I like were the ones he stumped for - the aberdeen faucets, what I would call the traditional look (especially for a kitchen faucet). Quite stylish, and some of them have a pull-out wand. These are more than just functional though, including some very powerful technology that seems to be hidden inside the faucets. Some of them for example, have quick connect technology, others have pause buttons on the pull-out wands. The soap dispensers look like a piece of art, have a fairly large refillable bottle, and are refilled easily enough from the top.
